Silvermere Gymnastics is proud to be an inclusive and welcoming club. Where possible, we adapt all our gymnastics classes to suit gymnasts with physical or learning disabilities, sensory impairments, or other health conditions.
In addition, we also run a number of gymnastics sessions dedicated to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There are both structured and unstructured options available, with classes running on a smaller coach to gymnast ratio to ensure that all our gymnasts get the right support. All of these classes require parents to be present and participate.
These structured, reduced capacity sessions with our fantastic gymnastics coaches offer the opportunity for your child to develop and grow in confidence with their gymnastics skills. Our gymnastics classes offer children living with SEND the chance to get creative and feel supported and valued as they move through sessions that are fostered and developed around the same structure each week- with the element of choice integrated into this structure. Every 2-3 weeks our skill stations will focus on new skills, providing the opportunity to enhance the children’s skill curriculum, confidence and growth. At the end of the session, children/young people have the opportunity for some free play on our equipment! Twice a year the gymnasts will have 2-3 weeks to work towards gaining a new badge and certificate of achievement (should they wish) in a relaxed and supportive environment. The classes we offer at Silvermere Gymnastics hold up to 8 children and have 2 coaches and an assistant. Even with this level of support we do ask that parents/carers come into the space to provide encouragement and further support where necessary (and maybe learn a few skills themselves!) so that we can get to know and support your children in the best way we can. Our aim is to ensure that our more structured SEND classes are an enjoyable and fun environment for all, where every child feels safe, valued and like they can progress in their gymnastics.

Move, Play and Connect STAY AND PLAY for SEND
Come and join our SEND exclusive stay and play at Silvermere Gymnastics! These parent-supported, non-structured 45 min sessions provide the perfect opportunity for your child to enjoy the freedom of movement and play on our sprung floor, softplay modules, air track, sensory stimulus, gymnastics apparatus and climbing wall!
There will be the opportunity to join in with a warm up game at the beginning and a cool down at the end of the sessions but this is not mandatory! Apparatus and modules will vary slightly bi-weekly to allow the opportunity for children to gain confidence on various pieces of equipment. Additional visuals/written challenges will be visible on the walls and by apparatus for additional learning through movement should children choose to engage with these, but again these are not mandatory. These sessions are the perfect opportunity for children to connect with others, and parents to connect with other parents/carers too!
We will have a coach on hand to observe and answer any questions, but please bare in mind that supervision and support is the sole responsibility of the parents/carers. The maximum capacity in these sessions will be 8 children.
