News and Updates
Wed, Mar 18 2020 at 8:00pm
Good evening to all of our wonderful members,
Following the government update this evening, it is with much sadness that we have made the decision to close our doors from tomorrow 19/03/2020 until further notice.
We would like to thank you for all the support you have given us over the past two years and especially this last week; your messages and positivity have been a huge help in such a tough and uncertain time.
As you may have seen in our previous updates, we will be posting online content for our members and families to do at home. These online videos will hopefully provide a fun and constructive outlet for our gymnasts to carry out at home. The first of these videos will be released the first week of April, information on how you can access this content will be published as soon as we have finalised the details.
Please reach out if you need any support during this uncertainty.
Sending lots of love,

Good afternoon Members,
Unsurprisingly we are getting an increasing number of queries about what Silvermere Gymnastics will be doing in light of Covid-19. At this stage It is hard to give a definite answer or plan as things are changing by the hour, however please see the below guidance.
We are still open for all classes, however we have now cancelled all drop in ‘Stay and Play’ sessions.
We anticipate imminent closure of the gym (we will be following UK Gov and BG advice on this). At such a time all memberships will automatically be placed on hold; this means that classes and billing will stop however your gymnasts’ place in the class will remain for when we reopen.
As a small business we are expecting the closure to be an extremely difficult time for us. As such, during the time the gym is closed we would like to provide optional purchased content for our gymnasts to be able to access from home. This will be made up off four videos per week; one strength, one conditioning, one flexibility and one cardio. For a small monthly fee your gymnasts will have unlimited access to all videos that are released to encourage them to keep active. Please let us know if this is something that you would be interested in.
Once again we would like to thank you for your continued support.

Good afternoon Members,
This update provides further information regarding COVID-19 – also known as Coronavirus – and specific information for Gymnasts, Parents/ Gaurdians, Visitors and Staff of Silvermere Gymnastics.
At the moment we are OPEN as normal!
We are continuing to closely follow official advice from Government and Public Health England (PHE) as well as from our Governing Body, British Gymnastics. Their websites are updated on a regular basis and should always be the first port of call for general and medical advice. The global situation and advice can change rapidly so you should always refer to live information on these websites and we have provided links for these.

What Silvermere Gymnastics are doing to limit the risk:
We strongly believe that during such uncertain times we should be doing all we can to encourage routine and normality for the children that attend our gym, whilst doing everything we can to keep everyone safe.
At this point in time, Silvermere Gymnastics are drawing up contingency plans for a number of scenarios.
Our Gym is deep cleaned weekly as a matter of course but during this time we have increased this to twice a week and we are carrying out additional daily cleaning to ensure that all possible high-touch areas have top-up cleans throughout the day and that all soap dispensers are well-stocked. We urge that all Gymnasts, Parents/ Gaurdians, Visitors and Staff wash their hands thoroughly at regular intervals during their visit and avoid touching their mouth, nose and eyes in between hand washes. We have supplied additional hand sanitise and placed this around the gym and waiting areas.
This is an extremely worrying time for everyone and we thoroughly appreciate your continued support. If you have any questions, please get in contact.

Good morning Members,
In order to keep you safe from the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) we ask that members returning from any of the risk areas or countries listed by Public Health England do not attend the gym for 14 days after their arrival in the UK. We are asking that even if you are not showing symptoms. The areas currently listed are: Cambodia, Iran, Northern Italy, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Please see the Public Health England website for more details and any updates if you are planning any travel.
In addition we would urge you to encourage your child/children to follow the basic hygiene practices, such as regularly washing hands and always sneezing into a tissue and then throwing it away as the best way to prevent the spread of any germs. For further details on how to stop the spread of the virus please see the NHS website
